[Preliminary Environmental Investigation for Privately Funded 2nd Outer Ring Road (Icheon - Osan) Expressway]

- The project route was 29.7 km long, 4 lanes in both directions, regional highway National Road, connecting Gyeongbu Expressway in Hwaseong with Jungbu Expressway in Icheon. It will form a part of the 2nd Outer Ring Road for Seoul Metropolitan area, diverting traffic from the city, alleviating congestion, and connecting the south-north arterial road network (Gyeongbu, Jungbu and Jungbu Naeryuk Expressways) with the east-west arterial road network (Yeongdong, 2nd Gyeongin Expressways) and the 1st Outer Ring Road. It will divert freight transportation from the Gyeongbu and Yeongdong Expressways, and promoted balanced regional development.
- In order to minimize the environmental impacts from the construction of the expressway, route was selected so that it would avoid damage to forests, and countermeasures against environmental impacts were established.
