The project route has a length of 15.26 km and 4 lanes in both directions, and connects the Busan New Port Western Container Site with the Namhae Expressway. The New Port will alleviate congestion and lower transportation costs in the existing Busan Metropolitan and Busan Port areas, and the project road will provide access to the logistics sites of the New Port, improving mobility in the New Port, and alleviating congestion on the Namhae Expressway.
In addition, economic activity in the area will be improved, along with balanced regional development. In order to minimize the environmental impacts from the construction of the expressway, route was selected so that it would avoid damage to forests, and countermeasures against environmental impacts were established.
