[Water Supply and Sewage Turnkey Works for Gwangyang Port Western Site (Lot 1) Development]

○ Location: Wester Site for Gwangyang Port Container Wharf in Jeollanam Province
○ Scope: 1,078,833 square meters
○ Works: Water supply L=8,262 m, sewage L=12,972 m
○ Project goals:
- The project is based on the strategy of strengthening national economy by port industries and plan for construction of the port to become a central business hub of Northeast Asia. The development of a international multi-modal logistics park to connect with the container port was promoted.
- Rainwater treatment equipment was planned, due to the increase of outflow and pollution from the site development. Water quality should be improved in the receiving area of the effluent (streams and lakes). Vacuum sewage system was installed to prevent sewage seepage and minimize excavation depth. Economicality and constructability were improved by implementation of specialized design and construction method.
