[Pre-Feasibility Study (Engineering Part) for Daegu Circulation Road]

Since the previous pre-feasibility study for this road in 1999, traffic conditions have greatly changed to the construction of the Daegu Hyeoksin Town, development of industrial and logistics parks (4) and residential zones (4), establishment of Daegu Institute of Science & Technology. With the increase freight transportation and regional development, need for a circulation road network that connects with the roads in the surrounding areas arose. These developments led to the execution of a new feasibility study.
Project promotion is based on the Road Maintenance Basic Planning (Jan. 2006) articles of the Road Law. It started in 1992 as with the establishment of the wider Nation-Wide Arterial Road Plan. Original pre-feasibility study for a 90km road with 6 lanes in 1999 showed a benefit/cost (B/C) ratio of 0.44. The project was also impacted by the establishment of the Intermediary Investment Plan for Expressways in 2000, and the establishment of the supplementary Mid- and Long-Term Plan for Arterial Road Network Maintenance in 2004.
