Feasibility Study for Privately Funded Yeongdo(Busan - Taejongdae) LRT

This project studied the feasibility of construction of a Light Rail Transit (LRT) system in the Yeongdo District, Busan, where traffic demand is expected grow in the future. Feasibility study tasks included preparation of route construction and vehicle system proposal, and operation plan. The project has a total length of 10.48km and 17 stations along the route of Busan Station - Yeongseondong - Hankook Tire - Taejong Station.
To alleviate the traffic congestion problems and accommodate to the regional development plans, sufficient route was proposed. Construction costs, economic and financial feasibility were analysed. In addition suitable promotion methods for attracting private financing, as well as social and environmental impacts were investigated. The tasks also include establishment of a basic plan for the project.
