Pre-Feasibility Study for Construction of Sinbundang Line

The project under this pre-feasibility study aims to provide a direct connection between the south-eastern areas and Gangnam District in Seoul, and alleviate the traffic congestions.
The project is divided in two phases. Phase 1 will connect Gangnam with Baeggung Station, and will be built 2002~2008. Phase 2 will extend the line from Gangnam to Yongsan and Seoul Station, and will be built 2009~2013.
For the first time in a railway project located in the Seoul Metropolitan Area, private financing forms were considered. Included in the works was financial feasibility assessment, assessment of potential for attracting private capital, and assessment of regional balance of investments.
