[Basic Design for Administrative Town ~ Yuseong, Daejeon City Road Widening by Package Bid]

The basic design is to widen the existing road from 4 lanes to 8 lanes between Administrative Town and Yuseong, Daejeon City, in order to promote traffic convenience, enhance connectability with Daejeon city and to cope with traffic demand caused by construction of multi-functional administrative city. The scope of this project is comprised of 8.78km of roads and 14 bridges.

The construction will be completed by December 2011, and will provide a connection with the bypass for National Road No. 1. Main consideration during planning stage was to minimize re-construction of Duman IC when connecting with Seoul Outer Ring Road in the future, and the plan for widening the main route. Additionally, the plan and profile were design to be compatible with BRT operation, and established a plan to display the landscape along the gateway to the multi-functional administrative city.

The design selected a Rahmen, PMP, steel composition bridge type to provide symbolistic characteristics, and lessen construction costs.
