[Detailed Design for Jinju~Gwangyang Double Track Railway, Lot 5]

Jinju~Gwangyang Double Track Railway project aims to become the central axis which connects Gyeongnam and Jeonnam Provinces, and secures transportation capacity for increasing transportation volumes following the development of Gwangyang Port.
In the scope of this section, Jinju~Gwangyang (Lot 5) has a total length of 8,308m, earth work section of 2,583m. In addition, there are 11 bridges (L=1,350m), 4 tunnels (L=4,375m), and 1 station.
In case of Seomjin River bridge, the optimal route to minimize noise and vibration and reflect the local residents' wishes was chosen.
When we carried out design for soil and foundation of Seomjin river bridge, the design was selected to ensure the safety of bridge foundation, based on analysis of geological characteristic. In addition, we have established soft ground treatment plan in consideration of economic, safety, and constructability aspects.
In case of design for tunnel, we have carried out environmentally-friendly tunnel design in consideration with constructability, safety, economy. Also, grouting method with perceiving hole and double layer pipe urethane were applied as forecasts indicated excessive outflows of ground water.
