The project aims to connect the Gwangyang Port, locate in the Jeollanam Province, with the import and export container facilities in the metropolitan area and central Korea.

Project track length was 7.205km, including 1 signal box, 5 bridges, and 3 tunnels.

Construction methods were selected with consideration of the environment, and included soft ground treatment.
