The extension of Seoul Subway Line No. 7 is planned to connect the existing subway line with the Incheon City Railway Line No. 1, solve the traffic issues in Bucheon, offer transportation towards the Gangnam District in Seoul, and reduce congestion on the existing Gyeongin Line.

The project was located in Wonmi District of Bucheon City, Gyeonggi Province, with a total length of 2,014m, including cut and cover tunneling (double track 990m), shield tunneling (single tracks of 510-695m), NATM tunneling (double track 175m), ventilation equipment (3 air intakes, 4 air removals), drainage (3 installations). The design was considered as the most technically and economically advanced proposal design and detailed design.

The designs also applied Value Engineering (VE) and Life Cycle Costs (LCC) analysis when selecting the construction method, ensuring economic efficiency. In addition, the design minimized public opposition to the cutting work during tunnel construction, and ensured environmentally friendly and safe tunnels.
