[Alternative Design for Namcheon - Cheongdo National Road Widening to 4 Lanes] 03.01.15~03.07.31/Taeyoung E&C

The project is expected to improve the traffic capacity of the Daegu Metropolitan area, efficiency of transportation, contribute to balanced development, share traffic with the Daegu - Busan Expressway, and at the same time function as a emergency reserve road. Construction is expected to be completed in 2009.

Sambo Engineering performed alternative design for widening to 4 lanes of a total length of 5.35km of National Road No. 25 between Namcheon and Cheongdo areas, as well as widening to 2 lanes of 4.88km of the connected National Road No. 20. The project section, located in a mountainous area, included Namseonghyeon Tunnel (1,690m) and Gomtijae Tunnel (1,039m), which will reduce travel distance and improve safety and comfort considerably. In addition, safe design for the Namcheongwaseon Bridge (304m) section, which crosses the Gyeongbu Railway Line, was performed.
