[Design/Construction Package for Double Track Construction of Gyeongjeon Line Samnyangjin - Jinju Lot 3 (Jinyeong - Changwon)]
2002.06.24 ~ 2002.11.22 / Korea Railroad, SK Construction

With the improvement of the Samnyangjin - Jinju section of the Gyeongjeon Line to double track, the line will be linked to the expanding railway network on the coast of the Korea Straits. The line is also planned to be able to connect with the Gyeongbu High-Speed Railway Line. Sambo Engineering insured the efficiency of operation, level of service, and consideration for multi-modal transportation with the selection of the optimal route. The selected route also minimized negative impacts on the adjacent university campus and recreational areas.

The route had to bypass densely populated areas and public structures, and the bridges and railway structures had to compatible with the environmental demands of the surrounding water reservoirs. For tunnel sections, LVT railroad ties were selected for their usability and safety, and 60kg K-rail was applied for the benefit of the passengers. The project section length was 9.25km, which included Jinnye and Bongnim Tunnels, Bokchangwon Station, Yongchu and Bongnim Bridges as the main structures.
