[Design/Construction Package for Lot 10 of Jeonju - Hamyang Expressway]

Jeonju - Hamyang Expressway is a part of the 4th Comprehensive Land Use Plan, and it provides connection between Honam and Daejeon - Tongyeong Expressway. It is expected to improve the efficiency of transportation of goods, and contribute to the development of the areas along the route. The wider impact are is expected to encompass Gunjang, Gwangyang Port, Daegu, Pohang and Busan regions, and the transportation costs between these regions and Jeonju, Daejeon, Hamyang and Tongyeong are expected to decrease, and mobility increase, after construction is completed. The road is also expected to have sufficient capacity to alleviate any traffic congestion which might arise in the future.
Project section was 5.03 km of road between Chunsong and Hodeok villages in Jangsu County, and the route included Chimgog Tunnel, Gogi and Gyenam bridges, and Jangsu IC. Gyenam Bridge was built using cranes for a steel box girder type bridge. During design, alignment was improved on sections with high banking, leading to decreased need for earth works.
