[Design/Construction Package for Lot 3 of Daegu - Pohang Expressway]

Daegu - Poham Expressway connects Gyeongbu Expressway in Daegu with the National Bypass Road in pohang, as well as with the Jangcha Gimcheon - Hwasan Expressway, and serves the Gumi - Daegu - Pohang region. It is expected to provide transportation capacity to the Pohang New Port.

Sambo Engineering performed the detailed design for the 10 km long Lot 3 of this road as a turnkey project. Design speed was originally increased to a maximum of 120 km/h, but after consideration of the steep topography, and the need to drive through tunnels, the speed was lowered to 100 km/h. Main structures along the route were Cheongton IC, Hwasan JCT and 13 other entrance ramps, and bridges with a total length of 2,356 m. Cheongton IC, connecting with Provincial Road No. 919, was designed as a trumpet interchange.
