[Detailed Design for Privately Funded 2nd Gyeongin Connecting Expressway (Anyang - Seongnam)]
08.06.01 ~ 08.10.31 / Consortium with Lotte Construction
- The 2nd Gyeongin Connecting Expressway (Anyang Seongnam) links the 2nd Gyeongin Expressway with the Seongnam - Janghowon Road, improving the capacity of the traffic network south of the Seoul Metropolitan Area (Anyang, Gwacheon, Uiwang and Seongnam Cities). In addition, it strengthens the east-west traffic network which connects Incheon International Airport to the provinces located east from Seoul, and will contribute to the competitive strength and development of Korea.
- Total length of the project route was 21.82 km, with 4-6 lanes (width 23.4-30.6 m), 25 bridges (total length 4,539 m), 5 tunnels (total length 9,498 m), 6 ramps, and 4 toll plazas. A 4,800 m continuous tunnel section was restricted to 3 lanes to minimize environmental impacts around Mt. Samseong. Plans were also modified to help minimize public opposition to the sections passing through residential areas. The expressway will partly divert traffic from many surrounding expressways, and to ensure a sufficient level of revenues from the tolls, the locations for the 4 toll plazas were carefully selected.
