[Basic Design for Privately Funded Seoul Seobu (Suwon - Gwangmyeong) Expressway] 06.06.30 ~ 07.02.28 / Sambu Construction

Sambo Engineering performed the 3rd design proposal for this project, which would connect the Bundang - Gwacheon road from Homaesil IC to the Gangnam Ring Road (currently under construction). The 26.3 km section with a width of 23.4-30.6 m (4-6 lanes) was originally proposed as privately funded project in 2002 by Korea Development Corporation.

The project route passes through Suwon, Uiwang, Gunpo, Ansan, and Gwangmyeong Cities. 36% of the route is mountainous terrain requiring appropriate structures (bridges and tunnels).

The project is expected to contribute to the traffic capacity of Gyeonggi Province and western areas of Seoul by virtue of connecting Gwangmeyong - Seoul and Seoul - Munsan Expressways.
