Basic Design for Privately Funded 2nd Gyeongin Connecting Expressway (Anyang - Seongnam)
2002.01.02 ~ 2002.12.31 / Lotte Construction
The project road will connect the 2nd Gyeongin Expressway with the Seongnam - Janghowon National Road to become a part of the transportation network in the capital, Chungcheong and Yeongdong regions. Sambo Engineering was responsible for the 20.94 km long section located between the 2nd Gyeonging Seoksu IC in Anyang, and Jungwon District in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.
The project section was divided into 2 sections. 1st section, length 10.34 km, from Seoksu IC to Cheonggye JCT has 6 lanes. the second section from the Cheonggye JCT to Yeosu intersection had a total length of 10.60 km and 4 lanes in each direction. Design speed was 100 km/h, and construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2008.
Main facilities comprised 6 interchanges and junctions, including Samak, Indeokwon ICs and Cheonggye JCT, 3 toll plazas (Gwacheon, Geumto and Indeokwon IC), 3 tunnels (Anyang, Poil and Gugsa), and 9 bridges (including Samak Bridge, Gwacheon Overpass, and Geumto Grand Bridge). Samak IC connects to the existing Seoksu - Samak underpass with a direct Y-type, and the Indeogwon IC connects the Poil - Munwon road with a trumpet type. In order to ensure the flow of traffic at the connecting point with Seongnam - Janghowon National Road, Yeosu Overpass was installed.
