Preliminary Environmental Investigation for Privately Funded 2nd Outer Ring Road (Icheon - Osan) Expressway

- The project route was 29.7 km long, 4 lanes in both directions, regional highway National Road, connecting Gyeongbu Expressway in Hwaseong with Jungbu Expressway in Icheon. It will form a part of the 2nd Outer Ring Road for Seoul Metropolitan area, diverting traffic from the city, alleviating congestion, and connecting the south-north arterial road network (Gyeongbu, Jungbu and Jungbu Naeryuk Expressways) with the east-west arterial road network (Yeongdong, 2nd Gyeongin Expressways) and the 1st Outer Ring Road. It will divert freight transportation from the Gyeongbu and Yeongdong Expressways, and promoted balanced regional development. - In order to minimize the environmental impacts from the construction of the expressway, route was selected so that it would avoid damage to forests, and countermeasures against environmental impacts were established.

Basic Design (Turnkey) for Tancheon Water Recycling Advanced Treatment Facilities

- The Tancheon facility will have a capacity of 900,000 cubic meters per day, using MLE advanced treatment method and 3rd treatment facility to conform to the water quality standards for water discharge. - As part of the "Creative Ecological City" initiative of the Seoul Metropolitan Government, this project planned a complete water treatment facility for the water discharges. It will improve the water quality of Tancheon stream and Han River. The facilities provide highly efficient, low-cost treatment, improving the health of the residents, and includes environmental education center, green leisure areas, and an ecological conservation area.

- The project comprises a total area of 191.27 ha, with a total length of 49,149 m of sewage pipes, and 3,630 drainage facilities. Works included the complete rehabilitation of the sewage pipes, and will result in the improvement of the operating efficiency of Goesan and Cheongcheon sewage treatment facilities, reduction of infiltration/inflow (I/I), improvement of ground water quality, vitalization of the regional economy in Goesan County, and efficient maintenance by using a comprehensive monitoring system. - Using private financing for the project will allow Goesan County to improve its environment, while maximizing the benefits, and reducing stress on the public budget.

Water Supply and Sewage Turnkey Works for Gwangyang Port Western Site (Lot 1) Development

�� Location: Wester Site for Gwangyang Port Container Wharf in Jeollanam Province �� Scope: 1,078,833 square meters �� Works: Water supply L=8,262 m, sewage L=12,972 m �� Project goals: - The project is based on the strategy of strengthening national economy by port industries and plan for construction of the port to become a central business hub of Northeast Asia. The development of a international multi-modal logistics park to connect with the container port was promoted. - Rainwater treatment equipment was planned, due to the increase of outflow and pollution from the site development. Water quality should be improved in the receiving area of the effluent (streams and lakes). Vacuum sewage system was installed to prevent sewage seepage and minimize excavation depth. Economicality and constructability were improved by implementation of specialized design and construction method.
